Super Bowl (Mom) Weekend

First of all let me apologize for not blogging since Thursday night. I have two full time jobs: 1) mother to two wonderful kids and 2) controller at Mortgage Success Source. Both jobs take a little bit of juggling and making quick decisions. Since I do have a day job I have tend to have a messy house. I am not good at keeping up with the housework, but my kids have full bellies and clean clothes. Two out of three ain’t bad. Anyway Friday night we went out to dinner for Daddy’s cousin’s 21st birthday. Saturday, Daddy and I split errands. He took John and went to the dealership, Dick’s, Bob’s, Staples and Petsmart. Gillian and I went food shopping. I hate food shopping. It is just exhausting. We lucked out. The story was pretty empty for the Saturday before the Super Bowl. A few blocks from the house Gillian fell asleep in the car. Perfect. I left her in the car while I carried in all the bags. Got her out and put her down for a nap. She takes long naps, so I knew I would get 2 hours to myself. I decided to make a couple of zitis. I made two zitis and then decided to make chili. I always make chili for Super Bowl. Plus I put all the groceries away, emptied the dishwasher and did two loads of laundry. Daddy and John came home just as I was getting comfortable on the couch. The boys were not as successful with their errands. They did get some double sided tape and three fish. But they did not find a Giants shirt that could fit John. While I was food shopping I found blue and white sprinkles. I thought it would be cute to make John some football cookies. I asked my mom and of course she had one. And a jersey cookie cutter too.

Sunday I was just as busy without all the errands. Today I finished all the laundry (and actually folded some too). I also made the boys homemade pigs in a blanket. Daddy found a Giants shirt for John. At first he was a little disappointed that it wasn’t a 10 on his shirt. I guess a couple of the kids at school had Manning shirts. We taught him about Cruz along with his TD dance. After that he ran around the house saying he was part of the team. Aunt Betty dropped off the cookie cutters and I got started on the cookies. I think they came out pretty well.

Overall a very busy and exhausting weekend.
