Crusin’

“Where’s the roof on Aunt Betty’s car?” John asked on Saturday. Immediately, Aunt Betty offered to take him for a ride. I moved his carseat over while he inspected her convertible Bug. He climbed in the car. They went cruising down the street and turned around in the dead end. I watched from our porch and saw Betty make the turn onto Newman Springs Road and saw John’s hands up in the air. They were gone for a little bit and when they came back John had a huge smile in his face. He loved it. He did say “I thought we was going to go somewhere.” Even though he was disappointed that the trip was only around the block, he still enjoyed his first ride in a convertible.
