Gillian has a new bedtime ritual. I have to turn off her lights and turn on her ladybug nightlight. Next I have to put her down in her crib and put a blanket on her. Kermit needs to be next to her with his head on her pillow. Then I ask, does Kermit need a blanket? She always says “yes!” Then I turn on her music. I ask her, what’s next? She says “kiss!” I start with Kermit and give him a bunch of kisses and say I’ll see you in the morning, be a good boy. I tease her and pretend to leave. She then says “me!” I give her bunches of kisses and tell her that I will see her in the morning. She loves her little ritual. Daddy put her to bed on Tuesday and she cried until I went in there and gave her kisses.
