I asked Gillian what she wants Santa to bring her. She said “Baby dolls!” And that’s it. Every time she says “Baby dolls!” I asked John what he wants Santa to bring. He said “I know. I want a wish box.” I had no idea what he was talking about. He explained to me “A wish box is an empty box and you get to make a wish and you get what you wish for!” I asked him what he would wish for. He said “Come on! You know!” And it was at that moment that I realized what he was talking about. He wants a wish box so e can turn into Kai, one of the ninjas from Ninjago. John has been telling us for months that he wants to turn into Kai. I explained to him that Santa gives kids toys and clothes but he can’t turn you into a ninja. He is magic but his magic doesn’t work like that. John was disappointed. He then said “Fine. I don’t want a wish box. I guess I want Legos.” Not very reassuring.
