Daddy picked up two books from a new series for John on Sunday. John finished the first book in a day and a half. Tonight I decided I would go to the library and pick up the next three books in the series. Daddy told John, “If you finish your homework Mommy will take you to the library.” That’s all John needed to hear, and he hustled to get everything done. Gillian asked “Can I go too?” We made her the same deal. Finish your homework and after dinner we will go. 

At the library, we split up. Gillian went to the kids second, John looked for the next book in his series and I quickly grabbed the book I wanted off the shelf. I helped John find his books and then suggested some options for Gillian. 

John found a penny in his pocket and he said to me “I’m going to give this to the library cause I know not a lot of people give to the library.” When we were checking out, we had to pay a small fine for late fees. I have John all the change in my pocket (plus his penny) to put in the bucket for donations. He was so happy!
