Every year the kids schools have a holiday gift shop. We always give the kids money to go shopping for Christmas gifts for our family. They love going shopping all by themselves and always pick out some wonderful gifts. 

Gillian had her gift shop first and she hid her presents in a top secret spot in her room. John’s gift shop was the next week. He came home from school and said “I think I left some of the gifts at school.” We asked “In your classroom?” He said “No.” We asked “At time plus?” He said “No.” It turned out that he thought he left them in the art room, where the gift shop was being held. We told him to ask his teacher to go back to the art room. But he “forgot.” 

The weekend before Christmas Daddy took John shopping to replace the gifts he lost. 

Christmas morning we opened our gifts. I got a fabulous frame and a ring with a M on it. Gillian opened her presents and she got some new Christmas earrings. After we opened everything John said “I found the gifts for Mom and Gill that I lost.” Daddy said “Where were they?” John said “At the bottom of my bag.” Poor John thought he lost his gifts that he had all along.
