Last night I lied and told the kids that they had school in the morning. Gillian was excited. John was annoyed. He said “But I don’t want winter break to be over.” I continued the lie and said “I know. But it’s back to the routine tomorrow.” I tucked them in and told Daddy about my lie. He said “That’s mean.” I said “I want him to sleep in. If he thinks he has school he will sleep in. If not he’ll be up at 6.” So Dadd gave the kids kisses and said to John “Big day tomorrow.” John said “Yea. School.” He wasn’t happy. 

He did sleep until 7 and didn’t get out of bed until 8. He came downstairs and found Daddy. “You guys lied. I know cause you didn’t wake me up and you went right downstairs. And I don’t even know where Mommy is.” 

Sorry Buddy, sometimes you need some extra sleep.
