Gillian got an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas this year. She has been dying to open it. I told her in the middle of the week that we would open it on the weekend. This morning she woke up and said “Today we get to make cookies in MY oven!” 

After dance, we set up her Easy Bake Oven and Gillian started making chocolate chip cookies. She was so excited. She mixed everything herself. 

She rolled the cookies. 

She made chocolate frosting. She put her cookies in the oven and we set the timer. I gave her my phone so that when the timer went off she could come back upstairs. She disappeared and then came back upstairs in a panic. “Mom, your phone turned off. Does that mean the timer won’t work? What about my cookies?” I explained that the timer was still working and that we only had four more minutes. 

She took her cookies out and shared with all of us. She even made some cookie sandwiches with the chocolate icing.
