Saturday morning Gillian took a shower and then I braided her hair for dance class. Nothing fancy. Just two braids. But her hair was wet. Later that afternoon I said “When we take out your braids your hair will be wavy.” Gillian has very straight hair and she was super excited to hear that her hair would be wavy. When we took out her braids she loved it. 

Last night after bath she insisted that I braid her hair again so she would have wavy hair for school. I braided her hair in four braids this time. 

She slept on the braids and was very excited to get ready for school this morning. She said that everyone at school loved her hair. “Makalya saw me walking to our classroom and she thought I was a new student!” 

Here’s what it looked like at the end of the day. 

She insisted that I braid her hair again tonight after her shower. Because “I just love my wavy hair!”
