I picked up John from school today and he says “Do you have a pencil in your car?” I said “I’m not sure. Why?” He said “I didn’t get to finish my homework. I think I can finish it in the car.” I said “Are you just trying to finish your homework so you can play Lego Dimensions?” He shrugged and said “Yes.” I said “I’ll tell you what, you can play outside when we get home.” 

When we got home, he immediately ran outside. The kids played outside for about a half hour before dinner was ready. I called them back inside and sent Gillian to the bathroom wash her hands. I said to John, “Wasn’t it better to play outside and climb your tree then to play Dimensions?” He said “Probably about the same.” Ouch.
